Statement
[“Refugio” is a an exploration of Portraiture and Landscape photography and of the the duality of the reality of being queer in Brazil and its implications on myself and my partner. It is also an exploration of (re)definition (queer) space and its scarcity. Not being possible for us to be together in our neighborhood or in our homes we set ourselves to scape from these environments that did not accepts us, in search for somewhere we could be both ourselves and with each other. At the same time that the reason of our trip is unfortunate, it also represents our search from freedom and happiness within ourselves and each other, windows frozen in time of our retreat, showcasing the images of heat, nature, and desire]
